Complete Dentures

A denture is worn to replace missing teeth so you can continue to have a full smile. The base of a denture is called a plate and made of either acrylic or metal. The teeth are normally made of acrylic and colored to match your natural teeth. There are 2 types of denture

1. A complete or full denture is one, which replaces all of your natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaw.
2. A partial denture fills the space created by missing teeth and is attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments.

Dentures allow you to chew and speak more easily while improving appearance and boosting your self-confidence.

There are different types of denture from which you cant opt –

  •  Acrylic dentures
  • Metal base dentures
  • Flexible dentures
  • BPS dentures
  • Tooth supported over dentures
  • Implant supported over dentures
  • Implant retained fixed complete dentures

Implant Supported Dentures:  Placing implants to support and retain a denture will generally offer much more stability and predictability, as well as improving comfort, retention, and most importantly helping to retain the jawbone bulk.

We consider using implants to support full dentures as a minimum standard of care that we like to offer our patients. When teeth are still present, a tooth supported metal-based partial denture may be an effective way to replace a few missing teeth.

Implant-retained dentures: Implant-retained dentures will feel much more natural in your mouth than dentures alone. That’s because the implants connect your dentures to your jawbone in much the same way your teeth used to be connected to your jawbone.  You will notice that food tastes better as your upper teeth will no longer cover the roof of your mouth. Your bite, chew and ability to speak clearly will also be more natural.
